Here is a beautiful example of a Georgian card table that has seen significant abuse and water damage over the years. Prior to French polishing we had to salvage veneers from a piece of furniture of similar age Circa 1790’s. Firstly we repaired the veneers and stringing using a traditional glue then we set about the French polishing, being very careful to remove the worst of the marks whilst protecting the colour, patina and value.
